boooooo. But once again, all of this payroll slashing is setting up for something big. Nothing else would make sense.

Awww, damn. He seemed like a cool dude. One of my favorite guys on the team. This might be salary fall out from Rasmus taking the QO.
Posted this in the offseason thread but let's also take a moment and appreciate Conger delivering us this
He was not very good but what a teammate/clubhouse guy. Would love to have a beer with him. But I am perfectly fine with him not being on the team anymore.
Seemed like a cool clubhouse guy, and had a solid year with the bat. But his inability to even come close to throwing out runners was too big an issue.
It sucks that we gave up 2 decent prospects for him last year, then turn around and trade him for cash a year later.
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I wanted to keep him just for the dance =(. we can't hire him as our third base coach? windmilling his arm while he does the robot. it would be epic.
Cost cutting move made in part because they don't believe he'll be able to throw guys out close to his career averages, nor do they believe he'll be able to play elsewhere. Otherwise, he had a pretty good bat to offer against right-handed pitching. Lets see if the cash and arbitration savings are applied elsewhere... last year, they turned the savings from trading Fowler to signing Rasmus. (or are the savings merely being applied to Rasmus' raise this year... if so, that's pretty lame).
