Link to where you got the "internet gossip" from then? Was it a message board?

I found this guy http://twitter.com/Jeffkle1016 -- who apparently is a nobody. I love internet gossip.

Nope, twitter and I can't post the link from my phone. I can post the message if you'd like but like I said NOTHING CONFIRMED thus no link or anything. I couldn't even get the players back so its simply gossip, I wouldn't take it to heart or anything just something to chat about.

Edit - Internet gossip is great

Jackson to the Sox is done so Myers is off the table again, Puma to Boston/NYY and Tampa is probably the best bet.

I'd assume Myers will stay but I really don't see Jackson staying with the Sox so they will try and flip him for Dunn which should leave the teams I mentioned above trying to trade for Puma.

Why would they want to flip him? I don't get it.. they're in the market for a bat and a pitcher.

Nationals want Jackson pretty bad and Sox want Dunn pretty bad.

He's a moderately young guy with lots of talent but with a crappy ERA. That is a move with more medium to long term payoff, when they should be for short term results.

I just don't understand Ed Wade. The D-Backs got two very good pitching prospects in Daniel Hudson and David Holmberg for Edwin Jackson. You could have probably got that same package for Brett Myers. The Nationals got top catching prospect Wilton Ramos for Matt Capps. Capps is comparable to Matt Lindstrom and actually Lindstrom is more valuable because he is under control for 2 more years while Capps will be a free agent in the offseason.

It's hard to bash Wade for a deal we have no idea was ever offered to him. For a team trying to make the playoffs this year, Capps > Lindstrom.

How DARE you even question the front office? Don't you freaking remember the playoff years and our other owners like McMullen?!?! Bandwagon fans blah blah crap

We still have some time before the trade deadline - those deals give us a hint at what we could get I guess if we have the team up for trade.

I just don't quite understand how you are willing to trade Roy Oswalt and pay almost half of his salary to move him but you are going to keep Brett Myers. I know Roy wanted to be traded but that doesn't mean you have to be trade him. Also, Brett Myers is having a very good year and he knows that. Who is to say he won't pick up on the mutual option for $8 million and enter the open market for his last long-term deal. I am sure some team is going be willing to pay him a around that salary for 3 years. If that is the case, the Astros would get no compensation because he isn’t going to qualify as a either a Type A or B free agent.

I was told yesterday (INTERNETRUMORSLOL) that Astros have 5 deals in place w/ LAD, NYY, BOS, TB and CWS.

Grain of salt. It was up to Berkman to decide where he wanted to go.

It would be awesome if the Astros could trade:

Puma + Lindstrom for Jesus Montero + some pitching prospects.

Montero is ranked #5 on Baseball America's top 100 prospects. He has great power. He is a catcher in the minor leagues, but many scouts think he'll end up playing another position in the majors.

send berkman and lindstrom to the yanks for montero (and change?)

if the rumor of the yanks offering montero for joakim soria and him turning it down was true, he is there for the taking. would love to pounce on that. lindstrom and castro for montero? get creative, wade.
