Watcha talkin bout? The old school Padres jersey is sweet. Only thing comparable is the Astros pride jerseys.
I like, no love, the current unis. I hope they never change again. the rainbow is good for memories. but that is so seventies its not funny. they don't need to bring that back.
RocketMan95: no, I DON'T! I do. Yes, it's play-on words for the popular folk Mexican song "Cielito Lindo" which says "ay, ay, ay, ay, ay... canta y no llores...", and I have that on my sig since my MEXICO lost in the World Cup 2nd round. * SwoLy would like to answer arkoe: I googled "gay pride girls beach" and I knew I would find a rainbow somewhere in there... * SwoLy really hopes to find more hotties (girls, b*tches) at the gay pride galleries PEOPLE... they're NOT rainbows... a rainbow contains ROY G BIV... where the heck do you see G BIV on there?
You can bet they will change again. They change every other game as it is. The current uniforms look like everyone else. Nothing unique there at all. I think I might prefer the old road uniforms, with the rainbow only on the sleeve going down. Either way, they're meant to be worn tight - wearing them all baggy looks stupid and just isn't the same. Leggings are actually part of a baseball uniform too, you know. Also, why don't they wear home/road helmets anymore? Just one helmet? If you're going to have two hats, you need two helmets. Don't half-ass it.
TheFreak, are you sure it was that era that had the multicolor stripes going down the side? I seem to recall that those were the ones AFTER the ones everyone is now calling "rainbow" (not me)... the ones that had the "CREAM" color road uniforms... are those the ones you're talking about? Home was WHITE, road was CREAM. Just a black star with "Astros" on the uniform, no "Houston" anywhere.
Sometimes, its just better to have clean, simple, and professional looking uniforms. --- signed, the 1996-2002 Houston Rockets
when they do go retro, someone needs to inform them that the astros wore white cleats with the rainbows.
