Bo thinks so. I'm betting this has the most to do with things. He has had a year to look at the staff and apparently didn't like much of what he saw.
When I saw the tweet about wanting a coach with middle infield experience, Tim Bogar was the first name that came to mind. He's managing at the AA level right now and has been in conversations for jobs managing in the big leagues, so maybe he is looking to wait until he can break in at that level, but who knows? From the Astros standpoint, the biggest negative I see is that he has that 2012 Red Sox/Bobby Valentine stench on him and he got kind of wrapped up in all that drama about whether or not Valentine's coaches undermined him during the season.
Boger had the chance last year to join the staff but declined after Lunhow insisted in his contract that he not interview for managerial jobs. I don't understand why Lunhow would do that for the risk not a getting another quality coach on the staff. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer...ench-coach-over-rare-clause-houston-requested
Continuity? It doesn't seem unreasonable when, making a new hire, you insist that they stay for at least a couple years.
Hitting coach isnt allowed to step into the batters box. Lets face it, the offense potential of last years club was closeer to a AA club.
Well, he's got a lot of experience dealing with guys with high strikeout numbers. That may be considered important considering Springer will be in the majors as long as Luhnow decides not to troll Nick any longer.

More old Cardinals. Yay! Actually, this is one that is definitely worth the shot. They continue to churn out pitching successes.
Houston Astros slogan in 2014 just WIN.... No more number 1 picks... Make the games enjoyable again. Hopefully Springer becomes the Bagwell/Biggio/Berkman of this generation. At 24 he should be ready to make a big impact in 2014. Make Cosart the Ace until Rodon and Appel come along with Correa in 2015. Offensive core can be Springer Correa Castro Pitching core can be Rodon Appel Cosart
Agreed. Why wouldn't I? None of us have the foggiest clue what these guys do on a day-to-day basis. It's all just internet masturbation.

Listach, 46, was the 1992 AL Rookie of the Year with the Brewers. He spent 5 seasons there and closed out his career with 52 games in Houston in the 1997 season. His CV as a coach includes 3 seasons as a manager (2 seasons at AA, 1 at AAA) in the Cubs system from 2006-08. Listach was named the Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year with Iowa in 2008. He served as the Nationals' 3rd base coach in 2009 and was the Cubs' bench coach in the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He shifted over to 3rd in 2012, then spent the 2013 season as the minor league infield coordinator in the Dodgers organization. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=br&url=%2Fplayers%2Fl%2Flistapa01.shtml&div=div_batting_standard"></script> Bjornson was the Astros' bullpen coach in 2012. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=br&url=%2Fminors%2Fplayer.cgi%3Fid%3Dbjorns001cra&div=div_standard_pitching"></script>
