I understand, and yes it's usually about money. And I guess just like Eric Hosmer and so many more, Abreu could just find himself released and the Astros just burn the Benjamins But if a respected veteran player agrees to go to the minors to work on his game, I think the players association would be very frustrated at a team for trading him without giving him the chance to prove he made the improvements (unless he had some input in the trade and is happy with it). Abreu did the Astros a solid by agreeing to the assignment. You don't repay that with bad faith and expect future players to agree to similar things.
He was probably working in the cage, off the tee, and taking swings off of a coach/trainer throwing from behind the screen. Live BP is probably off of a pitcher throwing off the mound.
Good to see Crane get Bags out of the building and being held accountable for the decision he influenced.
OR maybe he showed a fake birth certificate so he could play in the little leagues. Dude, can you imagine!
Gonna be sad when he gets into a handful of FCL games and hits a bunch of singles and they act like he is ready to roll back into the majors.
