Quintessential image of Ensberg: taken from behind the catcher on the first base side, an image of Ensberg looking the catcher's mitt with the bat still on his shoulder.
I wrote this in the Cust thread. More appropriate here: Angel Sanchez is the odd man out. http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros...om-for-snyder/
I think Angel Sanchez being cut deserved its own thread, since he has been a prominent player the last 2 years. I like the guy, but I'm glad to see him go. He just didn't bring much to this team in terms of skills on the baseball field. Marwin Gonzalez and Matt Downs will backup the infield.

Welcome back, I guess. http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastro...vers-agrees-to-minor-league-deal-with-astros/
Anything under $3 million is favorable to the Astros. His skill set projects him to be worth that much even if he only manages 150 at bats.
Plus, if he is totally worthless and doesn't reach any incentives, they eat the $500,000 for 2013. Together with the $350,000 guarantee, it's an $850,000 gamble on a competent player.
