Leadoff isn't much bigger a problem than it already was. Willie was only marginally (if at all) better than Bidge. Now, I am saying it's a problem, but that it was already a problem.
I know he did at RR, but isn't he a bit slow for a CF? Plus that .200 average doesn't merit an everyday spot in the lineup
If they resign Andy and go out and get Crawford or Wells via trade this team could win it all IMHO, those are two BIG IF'S.
Guy's keep in mind that Uncle Drayton's quota for non white players is 1 and Lee aint going anywhere so bye bye Willy T
Bucholtz, willy, and hirsch? One day after sending right-hander Freddy Garcia to the Phillies, the White Sox were discussing sending right-hander Jon Garland to the Astros for center fielder Willy Taveras and right-handed pitching prospects Taylor Buchholz and Jason Hirsh, FOXSports.com has learned. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6248404
Why do you guys automatically assume that Willy is guaranteed a starters job wherever he goes? I can see him as a bench/pinch-runner/Dave Roberts-lite guy for a ton of AL teams (and plenty of NL teams as well).
i figured burke would play center, but id ont know you probably watch/know about astros more than me. if its lane that would suck
WIlly is not a very good offensive player. By the way, Kenny Lofton is available and is not a bad guy for one year for the Stros to bat leadoff against righties.
Didn't see his GB/FB ration on ESPN. Concerned that he's pitched ~200 innings 5 years in a row. Good to see that consistency, but isn't this about the time when the workhorses begin to show their wear & tear?? Seems like he gave up a good # of HR's.. though I guess it was about as many as Andy did last year in a down year, which isn't too bad. BAA is relatively high around .294 consistently. That scares me the most..
I agree. Andy's coming back... Roy Garland Pettitte Woody ...and midseason, Roger returns Now that's a pitching staff!
