Well, BJ Upton does have that fantastic .228 BA. His OBP is equivalent to Pence's BA. I can't imagine why Pence would be more expensive.

I'm stunned by the lack of talk concerning Bourn. Either the talks have been more secretive, or he is the most undervalued player in baseball right now.

There's a sense out there that if #phillies sub domonic brown for singleton and include cosart they might land pence. #tradedeadline

I heard yesterday the Nats were a bit more interested in Upton than Bourn because he was under team control for longer.

They are both entering their final year of arbitration next season.

ok, then it was someone else. you're right..it was the someone else was preferred by the Nats as opposed to Upton and Bourn for that reason. I'm blanking on who, though...obviously.

If the Reds want Bourn then it will take Daniel Corcino and Yasmani Grandal, anything less and I hold on to him.

I don't know anything about those guys, but my asking price on Bourn is extremely high. He has been the best player on this team. He is among the best, if not the best defensive player in baseball, the best base stealer, and been a premier lead-off man this season. Scott Boras is my primary reason for letting go of Bourn.

I'm told he definitely could save his job. RT @LEXthePEX: If Wade makes a killing and lowers payroll, does he keep his job or is it to late?

Power arms. Power bats. Defense. RT @sethmedvin: @richardjustice are we looking for pitching or position prospects?

Are the majority of Astros fans in favor of trading Pence?

I've been reading through this thread and it seems like you guys are a mix between pro-trade and just seeing what the market has to offer. I guess the latter should be the way to go, regardless. Just curious.

Probably most in favor, but only if the return is good.

Source: Span-Storen talks at critical point. #Twins unhappy with #Nationals offer. Nats worried about Span's concussion. #tradedeadline #MLB

This MIGHT open up a door that seemed to be closed with getting Bourn to the Nats.

Astros suck with Pence. They can suck without him(and those other guys). Trade who you can now.

As an Astros fan since 1972, this year, I am numb, whatever they do is ok with me.

Fair enough. Should be an interesting finish to trade season. I hear there's a lot of interest.
