Well considering that most baseball and football players around 18-22 either play minor leagues or DI football, I'd say that they're pretty comparable. Cedric Benson plays for the Dodgers' minor league system in the summer and UT in the fall. Ricky Williams played in the Phillies and Rangers farm system before he quit. Sure Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium have tradition. But what about places like Safeco Field, Minute Maid Park, and Tropicana Field? Baseball games are filled with old blue hairs who sit on their hands, fill out their stupid scorecards, and rarely make any noise. Whereas, step foot in The Swamp in Florida, Neyland Stadium in Tennessee, or The Big House in Michigan. The noise is deafening. Rowdy fans, wearing their colors, and cheering so loudly that the visiting team can't hear their plays being called. Also, I disagree with baseball not going anywhere. It is clear that it is going down the crapper. MLB has absolutely no salary structure, and a poor revenue sharing plan that allows teams like the Red Sox and Yankees to simply buy the best players. It's stupid. You have fat, out of shape 1st basemen who hit .220 making $7 million/season. You have teams like Pittsburgh who draw 20,000/game despite playing in one of the prettiest ballparks in the world. Cincinnati is having trouble drawing more than 30K/game in a brand new ballpark. TV ratings continue to plummet every day. And you're saying baseball isn't going anywhere?
It takes a special kind of pathetic insecure person to garner enjoyment from continuously denigrating things that others look favorably upon. This is not the only subject where you've displayed this tendency. Says much about you.
