Bunt the damn runner to third and then all you need is a sac fly to tie it. How hard is this concept?
God I hope we don't become one of those teams notorious for losing the close ballgame. It seems we are already that team.
Ensberg needs to pack his bags, and get the hell out of town (Drayton too, for that matter). I'm getting awfully tired of watching him take called strike three.
Lane is now on pace to hit 59 home runs and drive in 162 RBIs. Slugging and OPS is healthy at 0.727 and 1.038 respectively so far but he is not walking. This has affected his OBP (0.311). Lane, Qualls, Andy, Roger, Lidge and Bidge are the consistent bright spots so far. It is hard to watch now but I will continue to tune my dial to every Astros game and visit the park. For some reason I feel more passionate about this team than I have ever felt for any Houston team this decade. It hurts so bad but the great thing about baseball is that there is another game almost immediately to help erase the pain of a recent loss.
Well, I sort of agree with you. Ensberg is simply terrible right now. What does he think he sees when the pitch is thigh high right down the middle? I've never seen someone take so many called strikes when he's already got two. On the last one, he was lucky it didn't happen 1 pitch sooner on a close one on hte outside edge of the plate. It's getting pathetic. SWING THE FREAKING BAT! Unfortunately, Lamb isn't looking much better and he is a huge defensive liability. Maybe give Viz some starts at 3rd until Ensberg can get to the eye doctor.
Go Reds!!!! I love Spring --- everyone is a contender. The Nationals are kicking butt, the Yankees are in the basement. Joe Randa is the best 3rd baseman in the NL The bad part is when reality begins to settle in.
