That's twice today that the double-steal has bit us in the ass... but this time, it happens with Jeff Freaking Bagwell on deck.

The first one was okay, to try and maybe jump-start this offense, but you GOTTA give Baggy a chance to drive those runs in.

I really don't mind aggressive plays like that especially with someone that handles the bat so well like Jose does.

However I see your point about Bagwell being on deck. I still think it was an ok move however.

No...just as far as the Astros go. I think Chavez has more upside than Ausmus.

Off topic, my sweet dog Zoe(Ridgeback) just killed another squirrel in my backyard. The squirrel got in a few licks apparently as my dog has a cut above his nose. Poor squirrel. Oh well. Back to the game... .

What the hell is Ensberg's problem ... Hes had a lot of strikeouts looking lately. He and Lane definitely need to be switched in the lineup at least until he gets this straightened out.

Well, I gues the point is moot since they probably would have brought on Wagner to face Bagwell anyways.

Man... Wagner has always looked good against the Astros.. but I've seen him look flat-out awful when I watch any other game he ptiches in. I guess he's got it in for his home-town team, or he's in our heads... whatever it is, we make him look like another Lidge (which he's not).

He's not a power hitter and he's hitting cleanup. AE's not a leadoff hitter, and he's hitting leadoff.

All this, waiting for Berkman to heal and Willy to "be ready", and then the Astros will have a lineup that does not suck. I guess Garner wants Biggio to have the advantage of hitting in front of Bagwell while we wait for Willy to "be ready"? Because Biggio-Everett-Bagwell proved last year to be outstanding. So far, the reverse has been piss-poor (although it is quite early to say anything like that).

He's not hitting clean up today.

He doesn't. He's almost as old as Ausmus, just as bad a hitter, and doesn't catch as well.

    Really? (...checks Yahoo...)

Wow, I haven't checked the game out this afternoon; I'm at work. Has he hit fifth before this year?

Ensberg is a 7-hitter. I've never been really impressed with him. To me, he's one step above Ausmus or Everett.

You're going to blame Lane for that? That ball was over his head in less than a second.

I'm blaming Lane for misreading the ball off the bat and then misreading the bounce off the wall as well.
