Heh, poor Lidge is having trouble racking up saves. When we're going bad, we're losing and he can't get the save. When we're going good, we're putting up really crooked numbers and he can't get the save.

I like it this way much better.

Last 5 games: 15-7, 7-6, 10-3, 11-3, 8-0. Four out of 5 games with a run margin of 7 or greater. Add in another sound victory today (knock on wood), and this is a bona fide hot team.

Berkman, Kent, and Bagwell all getting hot. Beltran continuing to mash. Biggio getting hits. It's a beautiful sight.

I'd like to see Lidge get in this game in the bottom of the 9th to get some work in since we've been winning by so much lately.

With a day off tomorrow it is the perfect opportunity to get him in.

    Amen to that.

I find myself watching Baseball Tonight again looking for highlights - thank you, thank you, thank you, Astros.

Although I understand the assessment some of you give ROY, c'mon, he's got the highest winning percentage of any pitcher ever. It doesn't get any better than Oswalt.

No kidding. This is either going to be totally awesome, or it is going to totally piss me off.

Berkman and Kent might win Co-Player of the Week. This is by far the best the Stros have looked the entire year. Hopefully they won't have a let down at home against the Pirates. Watch for Jack Wilson's glove (best in baseball IMO) and Craig Wilson's bat.

Let me see if I got this straight. If a player is placed on waivers, teams are allowed to obtain him in order from worst record, correct? So for instance, if the Diamondbacks and Astros were able to work something out, and Randy Johnson waived his no-trade, then the Astros still with the worst record among all prospective contenders in baseball would have a clear shot with none of the other big contenders capable of blocking the deal? Strictly hypothetically speaking of course.

I wonder if peeps in Ciny think Ryan Wagner gave Kent that fat pitch to crush. Since Wagner (ex-UH pitcher) rooted for the Stros growing up. Whatever the case thanks Wags!

I'm not fickle, I'm just not outspoken most of the time.

I am basically talking about all the guys who gave up on them and posted that they would not watch their games anymore.

You know, the typical Houston sports fans.

Well to be honest, the Astros have done nothing up until now to justify much, if any, fan support. Now that they are all but out of it, they are putting on a small show in order to tease and tantalize folks just enough to keep a modicum of interest alive into September. I expect them to hit a brick wall eventually and finally drop out of contention.
