Very disapointing...I knew the Reds were better than last year, but damn...

Any, the SI curse lives on...

We need to salvage one game, right...

What up with ESPN2 and the blackout? Is it a Texas blackout? Man...I'm in freaking D/FW. How does a blackout apply here?

OK ... Ausmus is getting rediculous.

I don't mind that he is not a great hitter, but when you start hitting into a double play virtually every time you come up to bat with a man on 1st that just doesn't cut it.

I think he's at like 3 or 4 tailor made double plays this series.

I don't expect him to pull a Biggio and go an entire 162 games without hitting into a DP, but come on!

Man, 2-0 Reds. We are signling them to death, while their only hits are homers.

We can't seem to solve their pitching.

So if we don't come back, and get swept, is Jimy on the hot seat???

    4-1 Reds.

I think the Astros have managed to single handedly resurrect Griffey's career in this series:

    6-15, 2 HRS, 8 RBIs

I have this sickening feeling in my stomach. What happened to our Stros???

No need to worry, they're just going through a slump. That's all. They can't win every game. Relax.

With Pettitte and Clemens, this team will not go through very many of these this year.

Yeah i know. 162 game season and all.

But another 4-9 streak could put this team in a bad spot.

BTW, I am not worried about Pettite, Clemens or the rest of the staff. I am primarly worried about our offense.

I think a lil juggling of the lineup might help.

Lidge surrenders the 3 run bomb to Kearns.

    UGH!!!!!

Bullpen is turning into a disaster. Hopefully Lidge can turn it around. And soon!

EDIT: Stone being brought in to put out Lidge's fire. Something is just so wrong about that...................:)

jump off the bandwagon if you want... but tonight's game and Saturday's game should be uplifiting in terms of the long-run.

The ability to make comebacks on the road, against a pretty decent bullpen, makes this slump a little bit more tolerable, rather than had it been four blowouts in a row.

I know a loss is still a loss, and that this team could be wasting a precious opportunity to make a move in the standings, but I also know that this Astros team is the same one that has gotten off to slow/mediocre starts each of the last three years... only to turn it ON once memorial day hits.

The fact that they had such a great start to the year affords them to have a little slump here, before this team is about to REALLY go on a tear.

Of course, if they fail at home this week against better division foes, I'll be a little more worried... but right now, lets get thru this slump, and anticipate better days on the horizon.

    Nick,

Im content at this point. I think a few small tweaks could help get us going though.

I'd love to see Lance moved to the 4 spot, permanently. His OBP is just too good to waste in front of Ensberg, Hidalgo and Ausmus. I'd love to see Kent get opporunities to drive in Berkman.

In a perfect world, Berkman would bat 3rd, but we know thats Bags spot as long as he is here.

Hopefully, Lidge is working through his problems. And Harville will be back soon, so that should solidify things.

Oswalt isnt going to struggle all year.

So yeah, things look promising. But as I said before, with so much at stake this year, 4-9 stretches could kill our hopes. Especially once Wood and Prior are back. Its frustrating that the Cubs are ahead of us, despite not having their two best pitchers.

OK this officially sucks. Man. I better get back to the USA, we suck while I am over seas! I left and we were like 21-10, now we are getting close to being .500 team.

Hidalgo is really slumping, what happened to that guy! Come on dude, snap out of it!

so the Losing Streak is up to 5 games now! To get back into great position we will need a nice winning streak. Man....

Our offense does need some tinkering with I agree. I just hope we pull out of this soon. This is so maddening.

I never saw the sweep coming, one game would have been nice. Berkman can't do it all.
