Power rankings are about predictions of "who's the best team". If you want the here and now, just look at a stats sheet and/or a standings page. A reason they have the team 5th in the standings is concerns about Lidge.
Chris Burke with a screaming RBI single... look at that pop! (if you didn't watch the game, and are a major Chris Burke fan, feel free to gloat... but if you did watch the game... you know exactly what I'm talking about).
A bloop hit that went of Dunn's glove (as he was sliding to make the catch). (I like Burke too... but more as a LF and 2B, than SS).
Who says he can't? Not me... I was the one who was all over the idea before game 3 of the NLCS (where it actually happened). Willy has progressed as a fielder, however... otherwise it would be in the works.
You don't need to make predictions as two whose the best team, just look at the standings. I always thought of the power rankings as whose the best and hottest teams for a given week. That's why I don't necessarily have a problem with whose ahead of us (except the Indians), but that they don't focus on the reasons why the team moved up 3 spots. If the team moved down, then yeah criticism of Lidge would be warranted. But whatever, power rankings aren't to be taken seriousl anyways.
Yeah Burke did some great things against the Cards in the NLCS. Don't get me wrong I like Willy T, but he's just not a good RBI man. Garner should put him lower in the order.
and seeing eye singles between what seems like a much bigger hole at 3B and SS. Uh-oh... Roy is trying to take out his vengence by nailing Phillips (but he missed him).
Cincinnati may be for real. If they can get any kind of pitching and Griffey comes back they could be contenders
Burke should play more at 2B on the road for Biggio... who really looks like a 40 year old hitter when he's away from MMP.
