Bagwell = finished He still has his moments, but so did Olajuwon at the end of his Rockets' tenure. Dream was crippled by injuries too. And just like Dream, Bagwell doesn't know that he's done.
Okay, Bagwell batting 2nd is horrendous. New lineup: Biggio Beltran Bagwell Berkman Kent Everett Ensberg Ausmus Bagwell, Berkman, and Kent have to be somewhere between 3, 4, and 5. Any other position in the order just doesnt make sense for one of them. You can put Beltran anywhere in the lineup and he will do just fine.
these r****ded line-up changes have gotta stop.....damn Jimy, an play ur best lineup......would be nice to see Biggio, Beltran, Bagwell, Berkman, Kent, Everett, Ausmus, and Ensberg/Lamb actually start the SAME game.......eh, at least Roy is killin em tonight....still cant buy a hit though.......
biggio having trouble adapting to Left Field? i think not 1-0 Astros win!!! Oswalt finally looked like his usual self and he did it against a very tough lineup on the road. Pettitte makes his return tuesday against chicago and Glendon Rusch. Its time to turn the corner
WAIT...what? A win....by the Astros? I'm confused... FINALLY! Now if we win one tomorrow and the day after that, then they'll have what is called a winning streak. Wow, what a concept.
We won this game with defense. That pickoff by Chavez and the tag by Everett were masterful. Anyone else think Chavez vs. Ausmus is pretty negligible? Hell, I kind of like Chavez better right now. Great to see Lidge come in and get the save on a 1-0 win against one of the better offensive teams in the league. He's passed his tests so far with flying colors. Bagwell batting 2nd was kind of a bust, but we're undefeated when he does it!
I was going to type that yesterday but I thought it was too early, but after today's game, there is really no doubt in my mind that he is.
Biggio makes routine plays look hard. A masterful outing by Oswalt today. His fastball ranged from 94 to 98 and his curveball was devastating, ranging anywhere from 65 to 71. Having Beltran is a tease knowing that he is only a rental. He is easily the best player on the Astros.
I almost left out the Beltran catch that was the best play in the field any Astro has made in over two years. The Berkman play on the hill was nice but I in my eyes that catch today is ranked up there next to it.
i didn't see the catch but i can't imagine it being as impressive as berkman's hill catch. that's about the craziest thing i've seen.
I agree and atleast Chavez gives the Astros a player that actually shows a little emotion on the field...
Y'all are way undervaluing Berkman. Beltran may well be the best player we have now, but it is not an open and shut case. Lance is about the only reason we won any games in the last month.
