Yea maybe, Keuchel has been bad 4 starts in a row now, still hope he ends up being a very good major leauge starter, but...... And not sure how much JD's great run this year has helped us
Glad he got rung up. One of my biggest pet peeves is when hitters just assume they're going to get time no matter how late they throw their hands up.
60 pitches thru 3 and 4 runs. Has keuchel regressed to his norm or is he just got to work some things out? Wonder which pitcher we see for the second half?
Most often misused term in baseball, he has 4 tools. He is not now, nor will he ever be a good hitter for average. He can still be a star though.
Not sure if you can say he won't ever be able to hit for a good average. He's done it after settling in at every level he's played at (all the while continuing to strike out).
GS could definitely be a 5 Tool player... i mean he could improve his game if he has the same desire as JJ Watt. But who knows.
I sure hope you're right, if he can be a .300 hitter he is gonna be one of the 3 or 4 best players in baseball.
All we can go by right now are his past performances at other levels... where he was eventually able to adjust and hit for a decent average (while maintaining the good OBP as well as power). I don't see him being overmatched or swinging at junk like Carter.... he often swings through balls in the zone with an attempt to hit it harder than he needs to (resulting in failure to make contact). Tonight he showed a pretty good 2 strike approach... and while he does that will cut back on his power a tad, the K's will go down and the avg. will go up.
