Crap, I jinxed him. He's got himself into a bases loaded jam now.

He's coming out now with Midland leading 1-0.

He gave up three consecutive singles with no outs, but he was ahead of the hitters and got especially squeezed by the HPU on an 0-2 pitch to Jemile Weeks. Should've been his ninth strikeout, but Weeks turned the next pitch into a single to RF.

He induced a GIDP to first base before leaving.

You watching on MiLB.TV or whatever it is?

If so, how's the quality and can you buy on a game-to-game basis?

I see that Lyles and Abreu escaped that inning. Box score shows 88 pitches - 60 strikes. That's a real nice ratio.

Mailman, what's your take on Jay Austin? Have you watched him at all? Do you see him improving enough with his plate discipline to be at least a league average OBP type?

I haven't actually seen Jay Austin yet. I need to scroll through some archived games to watch him play. I've mostly just watched the Hooks games.

I was kinda surprised that he got pulled at that point because he was allowed to pitch to Majewski right before, and Majewski had the HR against him in the second inning. Lyles got him to hit into a 3-2 gidp.

Cartwright doubled in a run to keep Lyles from taking another loss.

2nd baseman Jose Altuve promoted to Lancaster. He was having a great year at Lexington. Only 5'5" but was hitting .308, 11 HR, and 39 SB at 20 years old.

Jack Shuck has 2 hits tonight including a two run triple for RR and Melacon gave up a single after inheriting a few runners and then was a victim of a Matt Kata fielding error but retired 5 of the next 6 batters.

    Shuck 2-4 2 RBIs and a triple

    Melancon 1.2 innings 2 hits 0 ERs

Collin DeLome has two bombs tonight, looks like he has some power but his numbers aren't that great.

Shuck is FAST, he part of a double steal where Duran stole home. Looks like if Shuck can hit a little bit, Bourn might be expendable but that's another year or so away.

Edit - Looks like Shuck was picked off first but Duran scored while Shuck was hung up.

Sampson came in and blew the lead...not good for Chris. I get the feeling Chris maybe seeing his last days as an Astro.

@BenBadler: Jonathan Villar is gonna like Lancaster . . . 4-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and a steal in his second game with the #Astros

@jimcallisBA: Villar better bat, Mier better glove. Close, I'll take guy having better year (Villar). @reverendkoosh: Better SS prospect: Mier or Villar?

@jimcallisBA: I am serious, though not huge gap between Wallace and Davis. @Harrisc81: you can't be serious? Are you just trying to mess with mets fans?

Lets just hope one of them works out(Villar/Mier).

Well BA did rank Wallace in the top 50, while Ike Davis was 62.

@jimcallisBA: Essentially in deals for Holliday, Halladay, Oswalt. More in demand vs. stock crashing. @DanielOwenB: Why has Wallace been dealt four times?

It's a small sample size, but I've read that pitchers are only throwing breaking balls to him. I have also read that he has to cheat to catch up to a decent fastball.
