You are right that it isn't the most important thing, but its huge for his image, and the image of the club. If he is good, he will make money regardless, but you'd rather be loved than hated. Twitter is a dangerous tool for a lot of athletes, and its why you see so many use a publicist for these social networking sites.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bb/7118079.html Although he's not much of a prospect, Polin Trinidad was DFA'd today. Maybe Feliz is going to be shown the door? With the way CJ is hitting, Feliz should never, ever be allowed on the field again.
My guess it will be Ozzie Navarro that will be sent down. I wouldn't be suprised to see Feliz dealt to the Phllies as part of the Oswalt trade though.
Telvin Nash, our 3rd rd pick from last season, seems to be coming around in his 2nd season in the GCL: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=&sid=t413&t=p_pbp&pid=571981 After a great first game followed by a slow start (other than a solid BB rate), Kvasnicka's been hitting well recently for Tri-City: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=&sid=t577&t=p_pbp&pid=518909 Jio Mier's been in another extended slump after getting it going for a while (still has an impressive BB rate): http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=&sid=t495&t=p_pbp&pid=545353 Lyles doesn't seem to be pitching all that well recently: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=t482&t=p_pbp&pid=543475
So I've been following the minor league tracker thread on the offical astros forum and that Wallace kid at Tri City is tearing the cover off the ball and J.D. Martinez hasn't missed a beat since being called up to AA. I hope he gets an ST invite next year.
He hurt himself on the bases the other night. He had hit his second triple of the night (too much running I guess). I'm unsure as to the extent of his injury, but I don't think he has been placed on the DL yet, so it can't be too serious.
Clemens was placed on the 7 day DL today, but I can't find any information about how severe his injury is.
Its good to see Nash actually hitting for power early on this season. Looks like lefties are giving him problems right now.
And it's Jiovanni... lol It is an odd name and it's hard to get those things right unless you follow the players regularly. Try to spell the names of the pitcher and 3B we drafted in the 2nd and 3rd overall without looking them up... I think I can do it now but only after seeing their names like 50 times.
Express OF and defensive whiz Yordany Ramirez has been kicked down a couple of levels to the Class A Lexington Legends. The organization has decided to convert him to a pitcher.
