Stay classy, whiners. Qualls and Gallo have similar WHIP and BAA, along with opponent's SLG% and OPS. Lidge's WHIP is not much lower than Gallo's. I was just trying to point out that he wasn't nearly as bad as you've made him out to be. A 1.38 WHIP and .250 BAA isn't bad at all. Especially for a random middle reliever. That's why he's a middle reliever and not a set-up man or closer.
Gallo has a 1.38 WHIP this year. It's not ideal, but it's not exactly the end of the world. His BAA this year is .250, which is actually pretty nice if 1 out of every 4 batters gets a hit. All in all, his appearances in September is 4 2/3 innings with 2 hits given up with a WHIP of 1.07. 3 of those walks+hits were given up on 1 game, which you can pretty much attribute to a bad day. I think overall, he's pretty dependable when needed be.
The Chronicle, when listing the playoff roster this morning, listed Humberto Quintero as the #2 catcher rather than Raul Chavez. Anyone know if this is true??
