OK, I definitely picked the wrong game of this series to go to.

Let's see ... Tuesday night's game where nothing of note happened except for one five run outburst? Or today's game with a triple play and a 3 HR inning? Last night's was a slugfest, too...

Let's hope I'm not making the same mistake by going to Rockets/Sixers this year instead of Rockets/Nets!

Lidge is lights out yet again. Were back at .500 for the time being.

This series won't help Larry Bowa's case for remaining the manager.

    That's more like Lidge.

Qualls gets his first win of his career, and Lidge gets his 15th save on the season.

60-60. 6 games back in the loss column on San Francisco for the Wild Card, with 42 to go. We need to be catching up by one game a week in order to pull this off. Now would be a great time for a prolonged streak. We can make up serious ground on the Cubs. Wood vs. Oswalt on Sunday.

I think you can stick a fork in Bowa as the Phillies manager. He should be fired today imo. I never liked his managerial stlye at all.

Actually, only 4 behind in the loss column to SF and 5 to the Cubs.

If they can take 2 out of 3 from the Cubs its a whole new ballgame. That might be hard to do against Zambrano and Prior.

However, once again, Bullinger jacked it up. It's guaranteed either Gallo, Bullinger, or Harville will give up 3 runs a game.

    From ESPN's game recap:

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Clutch hits. Outstanding relief work. Late-innning rallies.

All of that has kept Houston alive and confident about the NL wild-card race.

I think he's referring to just the "outstading relief work" part of the lead.

Indeed... minus Lidge... the relief work was totally suspect, as has been the case for most of the year.

But, then again, ESPN might just be reffering to Lidge for his outstanding relief work... not the collective team in general.

whatever it is... Lidge is OUTSTANDING. He gets my vote for team MVP this year, especially if Clemens has to miss some starts due to his injury.

I believe that was the first time I have ever seen the Astros conduct a flawless triple play live. (Live on Tv that is...) I didn't have to see it on any replays.

Man, it sure is nice to have a decent winning streak under our bellies. I hope this team can keep this up. This is such an important series this weekend. We MUST beat the Cubbies!

Then... a rotation that now includes Pete Munro, Brandon Backe and a shaky Carlos Hernandez.

Cubs rotation looks like Rusch, Prior, Wood

It's funny that some of you still have faith in this team. The season was over a few months ago. They couldn't take advantage of the likes of the Expos and Mets, what makes you think they can finish 6 games better than a Cubs rotation that now includes Prior and Wood?

I did lose my faith in the team a few weeks ago, but damn. I am a die hard fan and I still try to watch every game. If they can win 2 of 3 in this series, I will still have my optimism back. not because I believe they will really turn it around but because the opposition (Cubs, SF, etc.) are not playing much better.

Indeed. I keep ripping on my Astros every night after a loss. A good night's sleep usually revives my hopes, only to be crushed again less than 12 hours later. But...TO BLIND FAITH! *holds up can of coke*
