oswalt didnt have his flashy stuffy today...plus he hung a lot of pitches up there in the strike zone...itll be interesting to see how he pitches the next game
I read in a couple magazines about MLB. And none of them said that the Astros could win there division. Kind of confused cause there bats look so strong this year.
I looked for the Astros on Extra Innings. Nope. I looked for the Astros on FSSW. Nope. I forgot to check Time Warner 77 in Austin. Yep. Game was on. I missed it. ****!!!!!!@!@#!@#!!#@
Great game! The place was PACKED, they announced that it was a record season opener at Minute Maid Park. (Is that even saying much?). It was awesome seeing Kent get a homer in his first at bat. He had a long standing ovation. The best part of the night was Bagwell hitting 2 homers (first guy to do it on the Astros since some guy like 30 years ago). He struggled with that shoulder injury all last year, I hope he has a monster year and proves he isn't done yet. Berkman was 0-4 and we still got 10 runs!
Hey guys, they showed the game on Channel 52 tonight. They're going to carry some of the games this year. They next game they'll have will be Saturday. I didn't know about 1190. That's great, too.
Great game. For those of you who saw the game, how was Biggio out there in CF? I think that, more than anything else, is what really scares me about this season. If Biggio's not cutting it out there, I really hope the management makes him a bench player. I love Biggio to death, but I'm not sure how he can possibly patrol our vast center field considering his age. Other than that, this team looks great. As long as they can stay relatively healthy(a must with pretty much any team), this really culd be our year.
Are you sure? They said on tv that it was Bags 27th multi homer game. Did you mean first guy to hit 2 on opening day for the Stros?
I agree here..........I think he would handle it well if the decision to make the team better........I thought the Kent pickup was a great one...I hope he stays healthy
Good game, however it really sucked that they kept the roof closed. It was a wonderful night and there are very few Houston evenings like this during baseball season. Yeah, I know it had something to do with the eagle that flew around during the tribute, but hell....we fans had no idea. People were screaming "OPEN THE ROOF". Welcome to the Stros, Kent. May you be as good of a slugger as Moises without the freak injuries.
You mean like breaking your hand washing your monster truck. That's no less freakish than pulling a George Jetson.
RM95, the first 10 games of the season are showing up on my Tivo. so far, it looks like I'm going to be getting most of the Astros' games at my crib. boyee!! I watched the game last night in the comfort of my own home. it lacks some of the charm of the inept Buffalo Wild Wings wait staff and their tender paper cups, but it'll do.
Hey, Buffalo Wild Wings isn't that bad! Wanna meet up somewhere tonight to watch both games and talk a little trash? I think you have church tonight, though.
I wasn't able to watch the game...work...ugh!!! The Astros were awesome...The Stros', like the Rox, now have the publicity due to a player (e.g. Kent) to make the Astros a household name again and a contender... I can't wait for Berkman to go off today... How sweet it is...And more to come...
That's cool Chievous, maybe next week. BTW, I went to North Carolina for a Dave concert, not to San Antonio. Lousy timing by Mr. Matthews, but I had to go!
