Yeah I don't like this move. Q should be batting and we can use Ausmus if we need to pinch hit him in the pitchers spot.
What's crazy, is that the Nats only have 3 hits still!!!! EDIT: I know, I know....I jinxed us. 4hits now.
Am I the only one that is wondering why Springer was brought in instead of Lidge? Maybe the plan is to bring in Lidge if they get some runners on. Crap, like now.
Lidge needs to come in NOW. I was fine with giving Springer a chance to start the inning and see if he can get through it, but I don't like having him pitch in a situation where one single wins the game.
I'm already conceding the game right here... with Byrd up and Wilson in scoring position. My only guess is that Gar wants to avoid what happened in the 1st game of the roadtrip (using Lidge early, and having to rely on Springer/Harville for the save). Its a catch-22. EDIT: Springer proving me wrong so far... I like it when he does that. But, Carroll scares me even more.
We really need another bat. It doesnt have to be a home run hitter, just a run producer like a Raul Ibanez.
Except for a vile May, Springer's been entirely reliable. And the fact that we keep buying innings from unexpected sources(Wheeler's 3rd inning, Springer's 2nd) means that if we take the lead here - Lidge is fresh to close it out.
The offense needs to do something to protect our bullpen. Pettite is going to have to eat up innings.
this is killing me... i used to be able to tune into 740 online, but they must have caught on... now all i can do is watch the stats on the net... top of the 14th, Everett is on!!
I was upset that I couldn't get the games anymore, but then I found out that my Dad had mlb audio, so I still get to listen online. I haven't got to see a game since we started winning.
Brandon Backe is about to pinch hit for Springer - if he drives in the winning run I will love him forever.
