Hate this signing from the start. Even with all those "saves" where he would give up runs to make it save situation. He's not reliable at all. 4 more years of this crap.

Sign a guy for 5/95 to “close” games by giving up runs (all season long)…
Astros FRONT OFFICE: are you paying attention or just laundering money through the likes of Montero, J Abreu, Hader…??? You dumped 2… now trade the last mistake.

When your closer puts more fear into his own fans heart than the opposing team. :p

“Hader coming in. Hold onto your butts!”
    “I don’t trust Hader.”

Jim Crane on fire! *lighting his money on fire

There's a reason why San Diego fans were happy this dude is no longer on the team. Not sure what gave the Astros so much confidence in signing this guy.

Crane was jealous of Jeff Luhnow getting the accolades for building the juggernaut, and he parted ways faster than you could blink.

From all the people involved in the 2017 sign stealing scandal, only Jeff Luhnow was blacklisted from MLB. And he wasn’t even involved in the scheme according to the idiots that went along with the bone head move.

Jeff Luhnow acknowledged he blundered, but he also said they were faithful to the algorithms; and with new information learned incorporating mistakes, that for future decisions would have a more favorable outcome.

To be fair, the Astros put Pressly and Hader in a no loss situation when they took Pressly out with 2 outs.

Pressly can say he was going to get that last out if he was just allowed to go for it.
Hader can say he would've had the save if he didn't have guys all over the bases already.

Pressly should've stayed in for another batter. If he gives up the run or if Hader does in the 9th, at least we have definitive proof of who blew it.

Now, the no win situation also applies as we all blame both Hader and Pressly for the blunder.

My guess is... Hader will be very, very good next year.

Side note: I hate the fact that a division leader even plays a win 2 games out of 3 series. But I will also say being down 0-2 in the playoffs has never been the Astros friend regardless.

    I actually agree.

It was an adjustment - he was trying to live up to the contract and endear himself to a new fan base. He was also used more than ever: He pitched 10 more games than he ever had before.

Brown stated they intend to use him more like a traditional closer in 2025.

I expect an All Star type year and contending for Mariano's award.

Josh Hader needs to train as a Starting Pitcher. The Astros workout in the off-season gets players ready. Josh Hader didn't train with the Astros last off season. He was a Free Agent. This time he will be more prepared and motivated.

No Rob Manfred hated how Jeff Luhnow tanked and got Top Picks in the Draft and built a Dynasty. Rob Manfred targeted only the Astros, but the Yankees sign stealing is allowed was ridiculous. Brian Cashman and Manager Aaron Boone still have jobs. Red Sox Alex Cora was fired because of sign stealing because of Apple watch. Alex Cora being re-signed by the Red Sox is the Hypocrisy of Rob Manfred.

Alex Cora was the bench coach for the 2017 Astros, he installed the Monitor Cameras to steal signs. Alex Cora bring in the league. AJ Hinch, Jeff Luhnow got Fired because of Alex Cora.

Quoted for truth, but Hinch could've stopped it, but chose not too. I guess it was the right decision because he got another job.

Cora is a psychopath... thought Blum and Biggio were gunning for his job. It is on Luhnow for not firing the psychopath or not empowering Hinch to do so.

    A psychopath?

    A man of no morals.

Bottom line, Hinch could've stopped the cheating and didn't. You're reaching trying to make excuses for Hinch not doing the right things.

Luhnow, in addition to taking blame for running the ship during a cheating scandal, had an ego based on his analytical skills (and success) that rubbed a lot of old school baseball people the wrong way. Similar to Sam Hinkie. I don't think he did himself any favors in that regard, when you thumb your nose at the establishment like that. For all his failures, Hinch has always come across as a humble guy who accepted his fault.

True, but this kind of stuff shouldn't matter. His succes is all that should matter and Crane should have replaced Luhnow with a GM that had similar thought processes.

Instead Crane went with a very successful old school baseball man, when it comes to signing and developing players. At some point Crane will pay a price for this decision.

Can we get rid of the misnomer that we traded away impactful players at the trade deadline? None of the players moved would have factored into impact roles on the stros. Their farm is middling because of the impacts of the cheating scandal and several years of being in a position that merits trading borderline talent for established players.

there was no ticker replacement moved. If there was, our outfield wouldn’t have been as mediocre as it was this year.

The farm is in good shape. The top position prospects are a couple of years away.

Best closer in baseball just blew back to back games. He's now given up more earned runs in this postseason than he did all season.

I say this just to remind everyone that all closers are going to blow games.
