That should do wonders for his trade value.

My problem with Robert's is that 2021 CWS team is the equivalent of last year's Rangers team. Everyone had career years and all have completely fallen off that pace these last few years.

Also injury prone and bad attitude (which I can somewhat understand) but to pay for the 2021 value is ridiculous. I wouldn't give up Blubaugh strait up for him.

Again we can agree to disagree.

Let me be clear, I do not want nor expect him to act like this in an Astros uniform. I would expect some up front agreement about behavior and effort.

But talent affords people some leeway. I think this is an issue caused by the situation in Chicago, and would be willing to bet a new environment would correct the behavior.

He has more talent and potential than any CF this team has had since Springer and possibly since Lofton.

If he is more affordable because of his antics and he agrees to leave them in Chicago - welcome aboard.

    I don’t think that’s an option.

As for Robert - he is one of the 3-5 most talented players in baseball.

He has asked the White Sox to trade him for more than two years now. Supposedly told them he will care when they start caring.

His cost isn’t the same at it would have been a year ago - and there is some risk. He has some injury concerns and while I expect effort and production to go up on a good team, there is some reasonable degree of concern.

Personally - I would trade for him but I have had the opportunity to see almost all of his games, saw and followed him in the minors.

When they signed him - he told the Sox he loved the game but only if they won. In the minors he was known for his preparation. He showed strong effort when he came up with the Sox.

Ideally a player always plays hard - but we are not talking about ideals. I’ll take my chances on his motivation on a team that doesn’t lose 100 games before Labor Day.

Personally, I'd take Ohtani, Witt, Judge, Betts, Soto, and Alvarez over him easy. I feel dirty saying good things about Dodgers and Yankees.

I would take those players over him as well - those players all play hard and consistently.

I am saying that when it comes to God given talent, Robert is one of the 5 most talented players.

He is an exceptional centerfielder with a strong arm when motivated.

He has extreme power and bat speed and has the speed and ability to steal over 50 bases if he is motivated.

The only thing that he doesn't do well is work the count consistently - but that is mostly a concentration issue.

I am not saying he is as good a player as the guys you listed - he clearly isn't, but he was (and maybe still is capable) capable of being in the same class as those guys - especially when you consider the defensive limitations of players like Judge, Soto and Alvarez.

    Sign Walker

    Trade Robert for Melton/Gordon/Ullola/Jaworsky/Jerron Williams

    Bring back Kikuchi.

Bring back Gamel to platoon in LF

Trade Framber only if you get the chance to bring back a star level player.

What do you think the cost for Robert will be? 2 top 10 prospects and 2 lower level prospects?

Gross. I wouldn’t give up half of that for Luis Robert. Regardless of what Bowman thinks

I think he's got the ability to be a star and stars cost in trades. You must not think he's has the ability I do?

It takes more than ability to be a star player. It takes dedication, it takes hard work, it takes respect for the game and the people around you. It takes being motivated to do your best every day. Robert falls short in so many ways his ability is meaningless. It would be a shame to bring up a rookie that spent his whole life busting his ass to get a chance only to find Luis Robert where he expected to find players he could respect. I would not want him if he cost nothing to acquire and he was played for free.

Robert will play hard for the Stros because they're a contender and not setting records for losing games in a season. Being Cuban is he doesn't Yordan will kick his butt. So that part doesn't worry me. He fits the Stros culture. it's his ability to stay healthy is my only worry. That's the risk in acquiring a top 10 talent.

Imagine having a top 10 talent in CF instead of Meyers.
