I didn't mean to communicate Houston had no chance. But a chance for what? A chance to build a dome that was billed as a home for the Rockets but which the Rockets weren't interested in? That dome proposal was IT. Bud never entertained the idea of an open-air, football-only stadium here in Houston. And despite his 30 some-odd years of living and doing business here, NO ONE stood beside him to pledge support for a new facility.
