The last I read is that it's all pitchers coming our way.

Maybe they did keep Singleton as an untouchable.

He's also their 1B of the future. Howard is almost 31 after all. Singleton is only 18 and won't be ready for at least a few more years.

We've heard Jonathan Singleton's name a lot as a player Houston would target from Philly in a Roy Oswalt trade. #trades

A point worth noting: Singleton had 1.131 OPS before All-Star break, and is .734 since. Sally League has caught up to him a bit. #trades

Then again, he's only 18 yrs old. Talked to a scout who raved about his balance & said he has a "special swing.'' #trades

@jimcallisBA: Like it more. But trading Oswalt & best guy is low Class A 1B isn't great. @LEXthePEX: Big if but if Singleton is included how do you feel?

Will Oswalt delay his decision so he can make his last start at MMP tomorrow night? I'm sure a few extra tickets would be sold for the game.

The Astros wouldn't allow it. When a trade gets to this point you don't let a guy take the mound and risk injury.

i'm thinking the phils are saying, "you pull the trigger on this before his next start, or it isn't happening."

McTaggart seems to think we're getting Singleton, which is why we're eating a significant part of Roy's salary

Stark: No formal deadline for Oswalt to OK trade to #Phillies. But he & Happ scheduled to start tomorrow. So both teams prefer answer today #trades

Agree, no way we eat so much of this deal without getting Singleton...if the deal is Happ, Worley and someone other then Cosart or Singleton I'd rather hold on to Roy till the offseason.

Well yeah, as mentioned above, if we're eating some of his salary, Singleton it should be.

jaysonst One player #Astros-#Phillies discussed if J. Singleton isn't in deal: Double-A 1B Matthew Rizzotti. Leads lg in AVG (.364) by 52 pts #trades

Stros sending 12 MILLION as part of the deal according to Stark, we BETTER have gotten Singleton and maybe more if this is true.

Yep. If the Astros are sending 12 million I'm hoping we get Happ, Singleton, and Colvin.

Rizzotti is nice and all, but signs point to this being a fluke season. He's 24 and this is his best season BY FAR. Being that he's a AA 1B, is he better and further along than our current AA 1B...Koby Clemens (who's a year younger)?
