Uncle "Cheapie" is paying a significant portion of Oswalt's salary so that we can land one of the best young prospects in baseball. I suggest you re-evaluate and retire the cute nicknames of the past that seemingly no longer apply.

3-1? Doubtful you're getting Singleton. Likely all pitchers. Just speculation on my part though.

It's hard to create a market for a 34 year old batting .245

I said it months ago. Lance is DONE.

That the plan I think, I think people need to lookup Singleton the dude is a beast. Happ and Worley are nice arms for the rotation but 5 yrs from now I think Singleton will be the shining star of the deal.

I said it years ago. If you think batting average used by itself means one iota, or that MLB teams care about it at all (when used by itself), you're an idiot when it comes to baseball. Sorry for being so blunt, but this calls for it.

I want Singleton too but heh...only 3 players? Well 1 is Happ, unconfirmed word is they like and want Vance Worley. 3rd player? Well I gotta assume that too is a pitcher.

Why do you assume it's a pitcher? What's the basis for that?

Well, now that I re-think, maybe Justice is right.

If it really is 3-1, Justice said it is Worley, Happ, Singleton for Oswalt.

No basis for that. Just random speculation on my part.

I'll go against you on this one bro, agree that its Happ and Worley but for the Stros to pick up so much cash they needed to have gotten Singleton or Cosart. I guess you'd be right if its Cosart but more reports are coming out that its Singleton.

Philly.com is saying the trade will be pitcher heavy, but without Singleton I do not like the trade. Happ, Worley and Singleton is a deal I would be very happy with whether they throw another player in or not.

I'm hearing that the 3rd player is Brad Lidge.

Yeah, I linked that on page 6 that Phillies are reportedly insisting Singleton be kept out of talks.

This terrifies me, although i'd imagine this was strictly a dollars and cents type of thing and no talent evaluations.

There is no way McLane was scouting A level prospects. He may have some history of interfering but he isn't that foolish.

Like you said, it's probably the aspect of the trade related to dollar and cents.

I want Singleton but I'm fine with Cosart too. Anyone else and it's disappointing.

Yeah, most likely. I could also see him asking for a list of the top prospects the Astros were interested in, just to satisfy his desire for the big haul, as multiple reports suggested he wanted.

For instance, he doesn't need to scout Singleton if Wade tells him, "This is the guy you want to get."

    Uhmmmmmm...

@JSalisburyCSN: Oswalt has been asking questions about the lay of the land in Phila, has received texts from Lidge, people close to situation say
