Yup it was a bunt, third baseman came in and the catcher threw to 3rd but there was no one there....worst play I've seen, ever
It hurt me to see Roy struggle today. Can't lie. I hope he performs well for them. How he does in Philly will have next to zero impact on the Astros. There were some negative stuff about him in the media going back to last season but I don't know how much of that stuff was exaggerated - likely some of it. Overall, awesome competitor who kept his mouth shut and performed for the majority of a decade. Lots of big time douchebags, slackers and cheaters in baseball and the sporting world. Roy is not one of them.
He did have problems with Cecil Cooper and was probably a large factor in him being fired. I liked Cooper but I also like Mills. My thoughts on it are that Oswalt was the best Astros pitcher in the last 20 years. I like his style and his personality but since he is no longer as Astro I don't care about his performance and he sucks that makes the trade seem much smarter.
Not to dreail this thread too much but what did you like about Coop? I thought the criticism of him was unfair early on but I gradually shifted to not thinking that he was a good manager. I thought he encouraged our hitters and baserunners to be overly aggressive, mismanaged the bullpen at times and seemed have no feel for our pitching staff, in general. His two favorite phrases were... Be aggressive. Keep the ball down. It was almost as if he thought that this was all you had to do to win baseball games. You also got the sense that players didn't like playing from him and I am not saying that because of media reports by the likes of Dick J. I got that sense listening to interviews from multiple players, not just Roy.
