It seems Ed Wade overvalued J.A. Happ and shied away from top tier prospect requirements because of it. Bah.

Hunsicker easily, especially since I hear callers to local radio shows give him credit for Tampa Bay now too. LOL

no, because the astros paid alot of his salary and still could not even get one of their top prospects.

Give it up man, let people vent. It's been frustrating for Astros fans recently - can we be critical for like 5 minutes before we get defensive?

c'mon max... no way you're content with this deal (if it is as advertised). it's one thing to trade roy o and only get a major league mid rotation guy and some mid level picks but to throw in a sizable chunk of change to boot the astros should've been able to fandangle at least ONE top prospect. we just put them in the drivers seat for the NL pennant for cheap - that's the least we could've managed from them.

No...because they traded the Wizard and 11 million for two other kids who aren't particularly good prospects. That's the laugher

be as critical as you like. i'm certainly not stopping you.

i've never seen Chris Singleton play one inning of baseball, though. he's 18 years old. i had never heard of him before this morning. i have no idea if he's the next Ted Williams or the next Eric Anthony....i'm not about to renounce being a fan of the team I grew up watching because he wasn't included in a trade this morning. way too much drama.

i'm not content or discontent. when i know what the hell we've actually traded for, i'll let you know. at this point, everyone's opinion on whether this is good or not is based solely in what other people are telling you. when you trade for prospects its' best to see how well those prospects turn out before you say, "well that's it...i'm not watching anymore!!" it's like we had a whole forum full of Singleton-only fans...when in reality, most of you didn't know he existed before about 8:30 a.m. CST.

It would also be funny to see everyone's reaction if Wade did not make the trade because he wasn't offered a good enough package (with the terms/names not being revealed). I suspect folks would be calling him an idiot and Drayton cheap for not picking up part of Oswalt's salary.

exactly....the market is the market, after all. it's not like we were turning down better deals to take this one.

if they hadn't traded him, this forum would be buzzing with how cheap drayton is and how they're not committed to building the farm system.

you could look at their stats, reports, and i have also seen a couple of their games. the astros traded oswalt for a 4 starter, Michael Bourn 2.0, and a shortstop that doesnt hit for much power. not one of those players were their top prospects.
