So this really did turn out to be a junk trade.

Man, how the hell did they manage to screw this one up?

Anthony Gose is 20 in high A, so he's a little young.

Still, he has some pretty big red flags:
    103 K and only 32 BB in 418 ABs
He's stolen 32 bases, but has been caught 27 times.

Villar is 19 in high-A, so he's really young. Still:
26BB, 103K in 371 at bats is frightening.

Not sure what the Astros were looking to do with this one. JA Happ is really good, but with the state of the rest of the team (old), it seems like they should have gone for prospects not a ML ready pitcher.

Agreed. I just hope they aren't serious about Myers being untouchable.

Well, just like us it seems Philly fans overrate their prospects as well. Atleast we got another SS prospect. Not a fan of the deal at all though. I guess we're just used to Houston teams having good GM's (Morey, Rick Smith are both good GMs).

    brutalized.

I used to laugh at teams like the Pirates and Royals who never can get it right but it sucks to be in the same boat with no hope.

Man our FO loves speedy, defensive outfielders with no pop. That description seems to match a majority of the outfielders we've drafted in the past couple of years and now we get this Gose guy back as a major piece of this trade (potentially)

We got no one who can hit in this deal.

So who got the "better" deal, Astros or Diamondbacks?

Feels like we should've gotten more, and I'm not even sold on J.A. Happ.

Truth be told, Oswalt wasn't doing anything for us anyway since we aren't winning with or without him, so it's good to get something for him, I just wish it was more.

Well, he hasn't made a bad trade, given out bad contracts and he's drafted really well (which is the most important thing to building a good football team). He's not bad by any means, not like the Astros FO.
