/relief It sucks that he's gone but it needed to be done. I hope this team is competitive in 3-5 years. I want to look forward to quality 'stros baseball.
Come on now, let Ken cling to his floundering arrogance after yelling for two months that Oswalt had little-to-no value and probably wouldn't be moved.
Nah lololol...keep it coming dude. Guy is annoying as heck because he's been so wrong but it's still info.
I bet that is the last minute sticking point, Stros fighting for Singleton. Worley, Happ and Gose would be a HORRRIBLLLEEEEE trade.
Yeah, the fact we're throwing in 11 million, gotta get Singleton. Gose is a Bourn clone unless they plan on moving him or letting him walk(not sure on his contract status)
If Wade/Smith deal their biggest chip for the rebuilding of this franchise for more speed/defense nonsense (Gose), I'm going to lose my mind. I'm not saying I'm opposed to his being in the deal, but if you're only getting two prospects, at least one better be elite. This organization needs left-handed power in the worst way. It already has a surplus of speedy centerfielders with little-to-no pop.
Exactly. The money is a big indicator that the Phillies are sending one of their top prospects. You can't get Roy Oswalt and 11 million dollars for a #3 or #4 SP and middling prospects. NOT A CHANCE.
I agree. If the Astros will pay $11 million of money remaining on Oswalt's contract through next year, the should get at least 2 top prospects back. Vance Worley strikeout rate isn't good and isn't considered much of a prospect. Singleton would fit the bill for sure.
Normally I would agree, but think about the decision makers here and their history. If any team would ever overvalue the hell out of a guy like Gose, this is the one...
