Great deal if so...but there's just too much crap floating around to be happy about until it's officially announced. I'm trying to be patient, but it's getting harder by the second.

Well done on this, hsf09, by the way. You've been all over it.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to hsf09 again.

Indeed... however, I suspect Ovando (the hitting phenom the Astros just signed a few weeks back) will be our future 1B if Singleton is not part of the deal.

Sounds about right since the Astros are giving 12 mil, am sure Happ and Mathieson would be with the big league club right away

I would be more than happy with this deal. If they are trading someone as solid as Kepp, they may as well trade everyone else too. Turn this into an entire rebuild. Needs to happen

That's a pretty nice haul. I hate losing Kepp, he's become one of my favorites although his defense is suspect. Guy is a professional hitter though.

I think he's too good in the outfield to be put at 1B. Reports are he has a monster arm from RF.

On a good team, Kepp is a situational hitter and occasional spot starter against LHP. He is versatile defensively but below average at every position.

He has a great plate approach and a good attitude but that is the reality.

The Astros should sign Morey for a one day contract so he could trade Oswalt. He got all that for a role player and shemac, just think what he would get for a superstar.

So, if Kepp is moved, they're thinking of moving Jason Bourgeois to 2B?

If Oswalt does say yes and we do get those players, the Astros have had a great year adding young talent to the farm system

And yes Bourgeios is going to second base, he's been working on his defense for a while now and Brad Mills likes the idea of Bourn and Bourgeios at the top of the lineup, and I do to

This season has really shown that his defense is why he isn't going to be starting regularly.

I agree, those two speedsters would reek havok (provided they can get on base).

Poor man's version of the Juan Pierre/Luis Castillo combo that the Marlins used to have.
