Exactly. June-July showed exactly that. With those two on and our pitchers, we should make the playoffs.

    Too bad Purpura is fat.

Nothing you can really do about that, pretty good location just a good hit.

Honestly, this is so hard, it's hard to ignore. 1 run 13 Lob.
With this group of batters this team won't win the wild card. It doesn't matter if they get into another good month likes june or july, if they are going to cool off again.
Whether or not they win this game, it's painful...

    Yeahh, well done Craig.

Lidge is not himself tonight... he has no grasp of his slider to throw it for strikes (but it still looks wicked).

Good to see that Lidge finally buckled down.

    1 down, 2 to go...

Keep grinding them out, boys! It's a pity the Phillies, Nationals and Marlins are picking up the pace, but we're in this. Let's hope Ensberg and Berkman get hot for an extended stretch. Pettitte is a real workhorse.

Actually they only had 7 men LOB. You cannot use the box score totals for each player, because they each leave the same men on. They had 11 base runners all night (8 hits, 3 walks), 2 scored and 2 were erased on double plays.

Of course all that doesn't change the fact that they need to start scoring.
