The only way I see this happening is if Bagwell retires.

Agreed... I'm fully aware of Gallo's awful stats this year... but he has struck out Patterson TWICE this year on THREE pitches, including Tuesday... ah well, its moot now.

Time for Lance to snap out of his funk... he's about to drop below .300 (making our lineup truly awful).

Man... opposing pitchers must be riding as high as ever, once they get past Beltran in this lineup.

'Stros have to keep it tied for two more innings, until Beltran's spot comes up again.

Unless anybody else here thinks somebody else on our team can drive in a run... anybody?... anybody?

We have to now... our "closer" is pitching... we got no choice.

    Edit: crap.

God, I want to KILL Chip Carey!

Even though he's not serious it still pisses me off: 'It's obvious that man has some character issues'

    Referring to an AStros fan.

GOD DAMNIT, NOW I WANT TO KILL THE CUBS AND THEIR FANS!

On the positive side, Lidge will be able to pitch against Texas.

If this team doesn't make the playoffs, they can seriously point to their record in extra innings as why they are where they are.

They're like 0-6 or 0-7 now... even last place teams win at least one by mistake...

Man, Sosa just flat out owns us.

Seems like he always gets a big hit.

(Note: that's off the top of my head without looking it up.)

It's Beltran or bust with this offense. It's pathetic.

We've actually kept him in check these last 3 years (of course we haven't been to the post-season in that time either).

He owned us big-time from 98-2001, though.

Well they get back from commercial, and that's the first words out of his mouth. He then follows it with: 'Wearing the enemy colors'.

Well, I guess tht comment is tolerable, but his other crap makes me want to vomit. All he days is act like he is god and act as if the Cubs are the most important thing to ever exist.

Both of those guys keep on making the umps look bad and claim pitches were outside when they were called a strike. And then WGN follows with that annoying 'Plane View' cam, but what nobody realizes is that camera is at an angle.

I DESPISE WGN, but it's one of the only times I can see an Astros game live.

EDIT: I do listen to internet radio and while many don't care for Milo, I find him to be 100000x better than these dipsh!ts on WGN. For instance, when an Astros hits a homerun, Milo (or Ashby) don't get excited; they just express that it was a home run.

It doesn't get many people excited themselves, as with the absence of emotion in his voice, but he is still so much better than Carey and his b****. And when Sosa hit it out, Milo had just about the same reaction as with Beltran's two homers.

Now when Carey announces home runs, it's either the most important play in the history of the game or losing the World Series. EVERY home run. It's just ridiculous.

When Beltran hit those two, Carey had the most negative tone I've heard by any broadcaster in the history of sports.

    Truly assinine.

Even though the game ended on a bad note, it was still exciting. Unfortunately, after the 10th, I just knew Houston was probably loing to lose it, at least in the next 2 innings where the not-so-good hitter are.

Lidge is not the goat in this game. The goats are Berkman and Bagwell. Comined 0-for-9.

Bagwell should retire. He's stealing paychecks that could pay Beltran's salary. Beltran is the future.

Lidge isn't the goat... sosa hit a fastball that was middle-in (and he wasn't coming close to hitting that pitch throughout this series).

The Houston offense is the biggest goat... for the entire series.

Take out that one abberation of an inning on tuesday, where they just closed their eyes at the plate and started hitting doubles and Alou's error.... they were truly pathetic.

Tuesday - one on a beltran infield single, FC, Kent RBI-single. Another on a Beltran HR.

    Wednesday - three solo shots, Biggio2 Beltran1.

Today - Beltran solo HR, Beltran 3-run HR.

Notice a common theme above?... this team watched a guy have a monster series... one that no other Astro on this team has had probably since Bagwell in 2001 vs. the Royals, and not one other player brought anything consistent over the rest of the games.

Getting guys like Burke and Whiteman some extra AB's is fine by me right now. I've lost all hope in Ausmus, Bagwell, and Ensberg (for this year, at least... let him juice... er.... work out some more over the winter).
