Off a blog: Aramis hits the 3 run hr, then the first pitch, Oswalt hits Barret right in the middle of his back and the ump throws Oswalt out. Oswalt did not even argue, just went straight to the dugout. Barrett started walking out towards Oswalt and benches cleared, but nothing happened. That picture is ..... I believe they plunked Roy, and barret shot up to start a fight when it happened. But roy was just smiling and walked to first. Kerry wood was ejected from that game after hitting 3 batters. He hit Beltran and kent too. It was the spark plug to our incredible finish last season. **** the cubs. http://forums.mlbcenter.com/printthread.php?t=15357
Come on Merker....3-2 going to the 9th..... OH MY GAWD....they brought in Weathers......UGH I can't believe he is their closer.....this is too nerve racking. 2 down in 9th.... YES....BALL GAME..... 2 Game WILDCARD LEAD !! DD
weathers wasn't tied up and told not to show up to the ballpark after yesterday? geez. he better not blow this. in a completely unrelated comment, how much would it cost to put a hit out on someone?
Don't want to be premature, but here are the facts: Stros schedule: @CHI, 2; @STL, 2; CHI 3 Phils schedule: @CIN, 1; NYM, 3; @WSH, 3 We should win 4/5 (or 5/5) against the Cubs and split with the Cards and finish up 5-2 (or 6-1). 6-1 wins outright and if we go 5-2, the Phils would have to win outright just to tie us. I don't think they have the pitching to finish up that well considering who they play. In fact, if we were behind 1 game, I'd pick us to overtake them. Looking good Stros! I'm still angry about yesterday, both our pathetic loss and David "Chicken" Feathers giving up 5 runs in the 9th. If we clinch early enough, Garner can set up the playoff rotation and maybe rest Clemens another start. The only reason I'm so confident is because we have so many games left against the lethargic Cubs. I've liked the Cubs for over 20 years, but I want them to lose every game until they get ride of Dusty Baker and Kerry Wood. When that happens, I'll split my loyalties again.
Great day! A two game lead is so much less nerve wracking than a one game lead. Just one game's difference in the standings, but it means so much.
Gosh I love this team! I love baseball too because it's the only sport where you can play "manager." And write now I'm going to play Phil Garner and set up the rotation for the final week of the season. (If winning the WC comes down to the final day of the season) 9/26 Pettitte @ CHC 9/27 Off Day 9/28 Oswalt @STL 9/29 Backe @ STL 9/30 Clemens v CHC 10/1 Pettitte v CHC 10/2 Wandy v CHC 10/3 Oswalt v CHC What do yall think?
when the going gets tough, the astros keep going. you gotta like the makeup of this team. these are all crucial games and we're stepping up.
