The problem with watching games on the internet at work is when we lose I can't let out the the frustration with a steady stream of expletives and random thrown objects.

Good news is, the Cards lost, so no ground was gained by them. They actually scare me more then the Cubs, although it seems like the GM of the Cubs staff has given Dusty Baker an unlimited bank account to spend on whoever is available. I swear it seems like every week he's trying to add in another power hitter to that roster.

Matt Clement, 2-2 with a 6.38 era and .265 baa over the past three years against the Astros, pitches against us today. I always remembered him being tough on our hitters with some nasty, hard stuff. Lots of swings and misses and double plays. Hopefully, we can hit him around a little, because I have very little faith in Fernandez at this point, hope he proves me wrong. I'd run a caravan of pitchers up there today. Villone goes tomorrow, and he usually gives you 5+ innings, to save some of the arms. But I think if we win today, it's gonna be because Fernandez pitches great, or Jimy manages great. God, I hope our offense comes around... you hear me, Bidge? Get on base and make something happen!

    Observations from the 1st inning:

Clement has the cutter & slider going, Fernandez has nothing. Could be a long day for the good guys, but it's early.

    2-0 Cubbies after 1.

My boss is on vacation so I'm sitting on my couch with a cold beer waiting for my lunch to be delivered. Life is good. Would be better if the game turns around.

Yep, Co-ards are .5 games out.

Clement is such a schitzo on the mound, one minute he looks like Kevin Brown, the next inning he can't find the plate.

Bidge picked a hell of a time to have his 1st error of the year. Lost an easy fly ball in the sun & dropped it.

    2nd & 3rd, 1 out.
