If we were down by more than one run (or if it wasn't the bottom of the 9th), then no. But as it is... that bunt essentially tied the game because you can't get a guy home from 2nd on a sac fly. WOO!
No second doubting now! It was a strategic move that defintely worked out. Good call, Garner. Now, let's see if we can set Willie wild on the base paths and get him in with a Biggio hit.
See this is what I don't get. Garner pitch hits for Burke with Palmerio at the end of the game? Why doesn't he just start Orlando because he always does something good. I understand today since Mulder is a lefty but watch tommarow, both Lane and Burke will start.
They seem skeered... I'm watching on Fox midwest, and the announcers are calling him as a out, but they changed after the replay...
Lance had this same situation in game 6 (in the bottom of the 9th)... lets see if he comes through this time.
Because... if Orlando starts, there's no guarantee he's going to produce big numbers... but you're guranteed to have no quality bats on the bench for late inning situations such as these. I agree that Orlando deserves more time out there (and he'll get it)... but I love having those big left-handed stix on the bench for late game situations.
