I couldn't agree more. Anyone else notice that it is once again his contract year? REAL CONVENIENT EH? We were all planning on signing him to a much lesser contract, but at the pace he's goin, it will be just as rich as the current one. And one more thing, IT'S DOGGY, DAMN IT! Everytime you misguided souls say Dalgy it's embarrassing. haha AHHH DOTEL! You A-hole, scaring the crap outa me, man! He is killin' me right now, but I'm not worried because he always starts the year out like crap. Im just really happy we were able to cushion the lead a little before he came in so Roger got credit for the win. A win is a win, but I know I and a lot of other people would have been pissed off if he didn't get the W in a game he pitched so well in.
I can't win can I. I said Dalgy this time to please the Dalgy gang.....but now the Doggy homies are stomping on me.... It was vice versa last week, when I said DOGGY..... .........
yep me too, I will be off at noon for about 15minuts....then I have class till 1:15. Atleast I will get to see a good amount of the game.
I've always said that Dotel is not a closer. He doesn't have the mentality to close. If you think that Wagner choked on some occasions, wait till you see Dotel try to do it this year.
Just believe. He'll make you eat those words before long. And I can't really think of who Chris Carpenter is, but Wade is gonna destroy 'em.
i don't see why so many people are worried about dotel. he comes out slow for a month then goes absolutely lights out EVERY SINGLE SEASON. his fastball just does not get to 95 in the month of april, simple as that. hence he has less confidence and uses the slider more which gets him burned. a month from now he'll be popping it in there at 97 and all will be fine again.
Yeah I think Dotel is gonna be fine in a couple weeks. He'll be dominating. It was good to see Berkman get another HR. What if we get the 2000 Hildalgo and the 2002 Berkman this season? Wow. Put that with Kent and Bags in the middle of the order and thats dangerous. I really like how Everett is coming along too. When we traded Carl for Adam I was outraged too, but Adam saves runs with his D and thats huge. I'm so excited. I cant wait to give my full attention to the Boys of Summer after the NBA Playoffs!!!
Link to CBS Sportsline for the pitch by pitch: http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/live/MLB_20040414_HOU@STL
I tried them today. they are by far better than ESPN or Yahoo on Pitch by Pitch. The updates are much quicker. Incidently that picture of Tony Womack that they are using makes him look like he is about to use a 4 letter word.
I really like there pitch by pitch. It updates a lot faster than MLB or ESPN. MLB locks up on me a lot. I havent used Yahoo before so I cant say. Go Astros!!
Yahoo has 2 different ways to do it. You can go to a live boxscore which updates every 30 seconds but sometimes they are way behind on what is actually happening in the game. Teh other option is to go to their live games. They are a little quicker there but you have to open 2 extra windows to get it to stay active and run correctly. That said it still doesn't seem faster that CBS, and you don't get the option to look at a full game pbp.
Simontacchi came in and to the relief of Cardinal fans he did not give up a HR to the first batter he faced. Ausmus only singled.
For those not in Houston or those that can't get radio reception .... MLB has a deal on their site where you can listen to ALL the games all year long and they will give it to you free if you sign up for 4 Risk free issues of SI and then just cancel as soon as one of them comes. Really good deal.
Is that what you did? Wow, just sign up, cancel and then you can listen online without paying anything? That is a good deal. I have a few friends from out of town that are going to love this. Edit to say thanks for the info.
Wade's K-to-BB ratio is pretty bad today (4-6), but I'll take 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R any day. Plus, I think most of his walks have been to Edmonds and Rolen. Walking those guys is a good idea sometimes.
From the sound of things on the radio the Ump has a pretty tight strike zone yet consistent so that might have something to do with the walks. Then again, since it is a consistent zone you think he would be able to adjust. But like you said 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, sounds good to me.
