Pujols leads the Stros on the season 14 runs driven in -13 runs scored...at least we won't lose tomorrow.
They need to allow an exception for the astros and just put the baseball on a tee ball stand for astros hitters. I bet they still can't generate any offense and still lose.
Bourn swung at a ball way, way low and outside to end the Astros threat in that inning. By threat, I mean 2 quick outs and a Wandy bloop hit.
Hitting or not, it was a horrible swing at a ball 2 feet out of the zone. That was my only point. I like Bourn and hope that he builds off of his tremendous 09 season. The rest of the team needs to hit and walk and slug and score runs and...
Bases loaded, 1 out, Holliday at the plate. Mills goes out to talk to Wandy. If I'm Mills, I say "Hey, you don't suck nearly as bad as our offense" to boost his confidence.
Maybe he just wanted to get a righty to face Holliday and saw that Wandy didn't have his stuff. It worked out as Lopez got a quick DP. That was a very un-Cooper like move by Mills. Props to him.
Brad Mills: The UnCooper. You know times are tough when guys are lauded according to how much unlike the previous guy they are...
Building on that fine idea, one could say that Wade's primary assignment is to unpurpura our devastated farm system and draft record....
Dolan: "as if he's never played the game, at times. Carlos Lee is struggling mightily." ...perhaps those 30 lbs helped his coordination?
Absolutely. We need to draft both in volume and quality for the next several years and make scouting, drafting, signing and developing players a permanent part of our organizational philosophy. When I say drafting "quality" players, I mean that McLane, or whoever owns the team in the future, needs to consistently commit resources to scouting and drafting and be willing to more often go over slot.
