The catcher you mentioned I think was Robbie Wine. That had great expectations for him. I couldnt agree more with your post. Aside from the 1987 season, the 2006 was the most frustrating Astros season for me. I had such expectations from them plus the 19-9 start had me thinking big.
no, earlier than that. Mizerock was pretty pedestrian, though. This guy's name was Ivy, I think. Mike Ivie, perhaps -- but I'm going off memory and not consulting google (as I should).
Didn't seem to be a big deal when he was injured a couple years ago. I wonder what it would have been like to have Bogusevic out there instead.
Dude was the club MVP in 2008 before he got his pinky broken in like 12 different places lol. Everyone keeps saying Selig and the hurricane killed our playoff chances that year, and while I agree, the team losing Lee was a huge blow to the offense even with Ty going nuts that September. Side note - whats our Magic number after today's win???
Like Mitch Meluskey punching Matt Mieske crazy? That's the only Astros catcher I remember having mental problems. He also couldn't catch
yeah, all I could find was this from Astrosdaily: That doesn't really sound like a serious mental health issue, though. Perhaps I read this ten years ago and "misremembered" it into something bigger. But yeah, I was speaking of the 80s, not 2000.
