I'm listening on the radio, so I don't know what Edmonds catch looked like against Everette, but it sounded like Everette was robbed. Edmonds turns into superman against the Astros. I hate the guy!
Well that's brilliant. I never said Ausmus made a good or a bad call - you're the only one that has made that claim. You can throw the best pitch in the world and still have it hit out - that doesn't make it a good or bad call. Players hit pitches - mostly bad, but plenty of good ones too. Go through a MLB game and I'd bet you that you'd see a Slider-Slider-Fastball combination work any number of times, and a Slider-Slider-Slider combo not work any number of times (and vice-versa). My gripe is why do people b**** about these things only when they don't work? What made this situation so unique that it was such a terrible pitch cal, except that the guy got a hit? Same as everyone b****ing about Garner leaving in Ausmus in a close game after he gets an out, but no one giving him credit when he does the same and Aumus hits a game-tying HR against St. Louis. If Sanders was looking for a slider and whiffed on the high fastball, no one would have said "great pitch call, Ausmus".
Win or lose, it's great that the guys now know that they can get to Carpenter ... Of course, I vote "win."
I've actually been informed of that on at least 5 separate occasions (because they keep running that exact segment multiple times throughout the season). Man... if Qualls ever got all his stuff together.... he could actually make a pretty good closer for somebody. That sinker he throws is unhittable.
Why does Willy try a bunt-basehit in virtually every situation... except the one where we actually need a baserunner any way possible??? EDIT: n/m.... same result.
