True... but I've always hated the Braves, no matter what. They're like the Jazz... even if they're bad, you hate them.

Teams like STL, and Chicago... sure you don't like them when they're winning, but they don't bother you much when they finally do lose.

Atlanta, on the other hand, bothers me no matter what.

Astros are 0-1 in extra innings this season.

braves are 2-1 in extra inngings.

With a win we can go up 3 games over the Cubs in First Place.

    AND, continue our winning streak!!!

WOW...Kent and Dalgy have really bitten the dust today. Hittless in 10 combined appearances.

They even hit low and inside pitches for HR's... the opposite way... in a huge ballpark.

    an amazing game.

    I hate the Braves.

"It's always nice to get a win in an intense, frustrating game like this. Hopefully they pull it out..."

    Spoke too soon. :(

    this loss hurts. Ugh.

Reminds me of that game last September in St. Louis. 2nd game of series, we had our foot on their throats and allowed them to win the game in extra innings.

Yea... definitely. Considering that you only have maybe 2-3 of these games, MAX, per year, its good to get them out of the way while its still early. (of course, nothing is pre-determined... i'm just using laws of averages).

I wonder what Jimy, JT, and Roy were doing in the clubhouse all this time... you think they wrecked a lot of stuff? :D

    Probably so.

I hate that Oswalt might get suspended for his actions, but Im glad to see that fire.

    Man I'm pissed!!!

No way the ball hit him when Oswalt threw it, and it was obvious the umpire would selectively call favorous calls for the Braves after the 8th...btw, how a 2nd base umpire even has a call is BS like he said it!

I guess I'm extra bitter because of Roy doing so well to the 8th and afterwards we were as close to salvaging this mess, but I guess beyond that a good game...:(

The game ended for me at that point in the 8th inning... sure it would have been nice to win (esp. after getting the lead in the ninth), but what happened in the 8th shoudln't happen to a ballclub of our calibur, with our ace dominating on the mound.

The good news is... you come back tommorow and win with Pettite, and you win the series without losing any more ground in the standings from when the series started.

The next Florida series should be great to watch... but I'll just be glad after tommorow, when this team doesn't have to go to Atlanta anymore this year.

Yea,... I don't think there is a team I hate right now as much as the annoying Braves!

Let's win tommarow, and get outta town!!!

More good news... a loss like this last year would have been crushing, seeing as Oswalt was our only pitcher who was close to a "sure thing".

We'd have to hope and pray, with smoke and mirrors, for games by Villone, Robertson, and Redding (sometimes even Miller), that they'd keep us in their games.

Now, we get three more games of Pettite, Clemens, and a re-juvinated Miller.

I know I've said this like 17 times already, but I just can't get over how fun it is to watch four stud pitchers pitch almot every game.

Had Oswalt won tonight, we would have had our first 5 game streak of starting pitcher wins.

    Stll not a bad run:
    Pettite: 5IP 1ER Win
    Clemens: 6IP 2ER Win
    Miller: 7.1 IP 1ER Win
    Redding: 6IP 1ER Win
    Oswalt: 7.1IP 3ER No Decision

The Braves are so sucky. The baseball Gods have deemed them lacking. Unfortunately the ump wasnt seeing well. Oswalt was in control.

These umpires have done an absolutely horrible job.
What was Hahn trying to accomplish by standing in 1M's name and provoking him like that before he even said a word??

Ortiz is killing us. We lucked out on a fluke double or we would be getting no-hit right now. Unbelievable.
