Oswalt needs an attitude adjustment. Hehe.

I didn't see the earlier parts of the game but was Oswalt getting those low calls earlier in the game? Or, was he just blowing it and getting mad at himself directing it at the ump?

I just wonder if Oswalt has a legitimate beef? Pretty crappy about how the ump at 2nd base saw that ball hit that guy and gave him the base. I don't think he bionic vision. It was hard to see that. I dunno.

    Yay... no loss for Oswalt.

Boo... no win, and possible suspension, for Oswalt.

    Backe rules!!!!

Backe has picked up 10 base runners and hasn't allowed any of them to score this season!!!

I think thats what Jimy and Kent were so pissed about.

The freaking home plate umpire (and the replay) said it didnt hit him, but the 2nd base umpire, who is farther away than any of them, says it hit him. No way he should be stepping in and making that call IMO.

Oswalt's frustrations had nothing to do with the strike zone... in fact, he probably knew that pitch was low. He hadn't had a problem with balls and strikes the entire game, till that batter.

That HBP call changed this entire game... and, in fact, it was the SECOND time that the Astros were overturned on a call that the home plate umpire made, but another umpire reversed.

The truth is, honestly, if the home plate umpire didn't see it... there's little chance that the second base umpire honestly saw it. He may have an inkling, but he can't be 100% sure.... and if that's the case, keep the call as is.

The home plate umpire, had he had more experience (or been the crew chief) should have used better sense in his judgement in asking the SECOND BASE umpire for that call.

But, Roy should learn from this... this is the first time he's ever lost his cool (has happened to the best superstars in every single sport), and he now knows he must become mentally stronger in these situations.

As demoralizing of a loss this could be, it could be just as big of an uplifting win...

Hey... I forgot Lance hadn't even played tonight.

well... the good news is that everybody looks bad on Smoltz's slider... but, of course, that's always been Biggio's huge weakness as a batter.

Put together = bad combo = strikeout swinging.

Nice job recovering in the 9th by the hitting!

About Oswalt getting frustrated...as a pitcher, I don't think you should ever get on the ump like that while you're still in the game...you don't want the ump not on your side. That gives away any chance of getting borderline calls the rest of the game, and depending on who the ump is can really hurt your chances to win.

It's always nice to get a win in an intense, frustrating game like this. Hopefully they pull it out...
