Dan Wheeler type of potential here. Not superstar but good enough to be a solid contributer to a solid bullpen. I like it. Though i worry about the shoulder issues.
Padres needed to clear a spot on their 40 man for the Rule 5 tomorrow. Guessing the Astros just gave them cash for this. Maybe they get a player if he opens with the team out of spring training.
Bass, 26, was a 5th-round pick of the Padres in 2008 out of Wayne State, a Division II school in Detroit.
