Really hurts to give up Phillips, but still like the trade, this makes us better. Gomez can really help us this year and next year. Excellent glove/bat combo. Fiers strikes people out, he could possibly be a steal, but he also gives up a ton of fly balls.

oh well. doesn't seem like a great trade, but at least we kept reed. gomez certainly is an upgrade for this year. i guess this is what you do when you have a super-deep farm?
The question I have is who do we cut/demote from the current 25 man roster, given we have added 2 major league players and given up none.
Hahahah wow of course.

Serious prospects for Gomez, a nine-year vet who rarely walks and has just eight homers, .328 OBP and career-low seven SB this year.
— Brian T. This is sick, could have left fiers out, why did the mets turn Gomrz down with a worse offer? Fiers was not necessary at all. Had to be a way to keep our top prospect off the table.
yep. doesn't seem that good. seems like phillips alone has the upside to be better than him in short order.
So our Top 2, 7, 14 prospects. I think it is a bit much but if any team that can give up good prospects and be completely fine, it is the Astros. So I am not sweating the deal at all. I like it. We have Daz Cameron, and Kyle tucker developing and will be up in 3 years.
Hate to lose Phillips, but Kyle Tucker can take his spot in the very near future. Astros are still deep at OF.
We have prospects to trade so let's go and make a deal! A prospect for you, a prospect for you, a prospect for you... I have no idea on any of these guys but seems most of you aren't happy about it?
We had to move some of our prospects. Hopefully we have another trade so we can clear up some spots in the 25 man roster.
They obviously feel like Phillips Is overvalued (i.e. they dont believe in his power me thinks) and the other guys are just excess that will never make the team but have a chance somewhere else. Maybe it could work out but I think he could have been had for less.
