You realize Valbuena does it more often than Gomez, right?

I'll never understand why fans of the team showboating get upset at the showboating. I want cocky/confident players that get a rise out of opposing fans. Being neutral isn't fun.

I'll never understand the sensitivity around celebrating in baseball. Actually, that applies to all sports, but baseball especially.

Because it's an old-timey sport filled with curmudgeonly men wearing pajamas. Doesn't mean it can't be fun, but it certainly can be stuffy.

Me either. I love baseball in spite of this and their dumb**** unwritten rules.

Excitement over a positive result never bothers me. But look at me posturing always rubs me the wrong way, in any sport.

I can at least tolerate it when you do something impressive (HR,Int,TD) but bat flipping after a single, or a cornerback causing a scene over deflecting a pass, I can't stand that.

The worst is celebrating a big hit after a guy gains 15 yards and a first down. DJ Swearinger was the worst as he celebrated everything no matter the outcome. Just awful awareness of the situation.

To be fair that wasn't over-celebrating. It the first time anyone had made a tackle or anything that could have been construed as a positive play all game.

THIS. If that makes me a curmudgeonly old fart, then so be it. But celebrating a single? Like a said, the guy must have gotten one too many participation medals as a kid. What's next, is he going to showboat over a line drive out to short left field?

The guy probably plays harder than anyone I’ve ever seen. If you put in the work, give that much of a damn on every pitch that you nearly fall down once an at-bat , and are already naturally a super emotional guy, you’re going to celebrate when you do something well and get angry when you make a mistake. Thats just who he is, and it harms no one. Add to the fact that he seems like a heck of a teammate (always on the top step being the loudest cheerleader), I don’t see how or why anyone would criticize his attitude.

Now if you have issues with his plate discipline or just the streakiness of his game, I’d listen.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Even when he was struggling it was difficult not to like the guy with all the passion he shows for the game.

Altuve and Correa have passion. This guy is prepubescent.

Put his ass on the mound in a blowout.

    That's "sexy".
