Like this move a lot for OF depth. Will surely be on the playoff roster and likely to start against LHPs.
Maybin leads the AL in stolen bases. A great pitch-runner in late inning playoff games. Maybin is a free agent at the end of the year.

Gross. This is worthless. We. Need. Pitching. The only way this is logical is if we're about ship out someone for Verlander. Oh a pitch runner off the bench? A 5th outfielder? Hitting in the .230s with 6 homers? Gross. This seems like a move to try and appease fans and players. This is a clever illusion to try and make it seem like the front office is trying to improve the team.
Cool. I like him as a player and will help, especially if Gurriel ends up being down for any length of time, forcing Marwin to 1st. Fisher has the tools but we need better right now.
Biggest help to this team is that he wont be stealing bases against us. Geez I think he had 4 in one game against us lol
Fisher is better already. And even if he is slightly worse it would be better for us to give him minutes and build for the future or increase his trade value. Maybin is bad, often hurt or missing games, and isn't a critical need for our team. This is a net zero gain.
It will be interesting to see if he is a starter or if he takes the role of the 4th OF as Marisnick has played well enough to play every day. Maybin is a better base stealer and base runner than Marisnick. He would be valuable as a pinch runner.

I never once said I'm mad about what we gave up. I'm mad because we are doing nothing to address our biggest weakness and that happens to be what wins playoff games.
Marisnick and Fisher would both be great rebuild pieces for DET. Wonder if either of them is on the outs.
