Houston is the only UNIFORM I root for, that goes for every sport, but I do like to see several players have success and I like to see some fall on their faces.
Being originally from the Bay Area in Calfornia, my second favorite is most def the Golden State Warriors...laugh all you want fellas, but back in the day it was all about Run TMC
I don't have a "favorite" team other than the Rockets, but I do have an order that I root for teams in the playoffs. 1. ROX 2. Any Texas team that did not put the Rox out. 3. Any Western Conference team that is not the Lakers. So the past two years, the team I was rooting for after the Rox left won!
Miami...I started to follow them in their Riley years, when they got 'Zo. They were just flat-out a tough, hard-nosed team that could ball.
For a long time it was the Rockets first, Lakers second. But after Los Angeles acquired Karl Malone and kicked out Shaquille Oneal to appease Kobe I could no longer be a fan. The only other team I sort of like would be the Heat, because of Shaq and Jeff Van Gundy's brother.
Chicago Bulls....I was born in Chicago but moved down here and lived long enough to be a Houstonian. And before you think it, I liked the Bulls even before they drafted MJ. I still to this day hold my team as the Rockets, and I was so happy when MadMax would get under MJ's skin as the Rockets would beat the Bulls again
Spurs....Duncan is a beast and we are watching the career of one of the all-time greats....plus their teamwork Flame me......
It has always and will always be just about the Rockets! Sure, there are some teams in the NBA that I like more than others, but to say I have a second favorite team is misleading because nothing even comes close to them.
Once the Rockets are eliminated, which may never happen again in my lifetime, I'll root for Clippers and T-Wolves. I like Garnett and the futility of the Clippers.
Spurs and Lakers. I'm not a fan of the teams, just a fan of ********** ****** **** upon their ******** ********* *** fans.
