Assuming that we land DA, what do you think will be the Rocket's weak area?

was anyone on this board not a fan of the tmac trade?

but your point about minutes is true. just because tmac can handle 40 minutes doesn't mean it's great for the playoffs. the spurs played duncan well under 40 minutes last year to save him for the playoffs. of course the spurs are so good they could do that and still go 59-23. we're not there yet. and of course duncan still got an ankle injury and was hampered in the playoffs so it's all just a crapshoot anyway.

yep... just read all the posts from last season. Remember early in the season... there were a lot of people tat hated the tMac trade. They said it was a dumb move. Don't forget, there was a time when the magic looked ike a better team than the rockets.

I like the idea of bring DA on board for the LLE, but keep in mind that he didn't do much for the Blazers and was definitely injury-prone. It's a mistake to mentally pencil him in now as a starter. He's a backup until he proves otherwise.

We need a PG. That's why we need to get Anderson or someone in and then concentrate on getting Payton or Van Exel into the fold.

Oh no they were not. There were a LOT of people that didn't like the T-Mac deal and actively showed it, even going as far as ripping McGrady. On this board. Many of the same people continued to rip on McGrady throughout the season. Also, McGrady may be 26 years old but he has a history of back problems. You don't don't want him logging a ton of minutes if can help it.

Assuming Derek and Deke sign the Rockets will have 7 effective wing players and 5 low post players. I think we should get one more low post player - probably Baxter or someone like him.

What are you talking about? There were a lot of people crying about the trade. You need to go back and check the archives.

No team is "stout" at every position (except maybe for Miami). Even SA has it "weaknesses", but they play very well as a team, and they get the job done. The rockets need to attack this season with the same mentality. Play well collectively. With what they have now ( excluding dead beats like Smoochie, Mr Heisman, and Vin Baker whose ass has biologically bonded to the bench over the past few seasons) they are a team to be reckoned with. If the DA deal doesnt happen, they need not pani b/c they have a superior team already.

You could count me in that group. I wanted TMac as much as anyone but not if Cato was included. I was too worried about who was going to back up Yao but Deke and Howard quiet those doubts in a hurry.
