Cuban will love you. But I think you need to include Asik to make it work. Meanwhile, Dirk got at least 2 more years or less left in the tank. The injuries are now keeping up with him.

al horford. imagine this team next season

    lin / bev/ brooks
    harden / deshawn / brooks
    parsons / n young
    horford / motie / white
    asik / mozgov

guarantee deep playoff run, small chance to contend. next offseason can make a trade for another superstar

    For a one year run:
    1.) Duncan
    2.) Garnett
    edit - Horford
    3.) Gasol
    4.) Bosh
    5.) Love
    6.) Aldridge
    7.) Zbo
    8.) Smith
    9.) Milsap

This is contracts, age, etc aside.

Bosh would be ideal. The guy is Patrick Patterson on steroids. He can step up to playing a bigger role than he's playing right now on the Heat. GREAT mid-range jumpshooter and has range out to the perimeter. He's a good rebounder as well, and he's tall enough to be a small-ball Center.

Robert Horry was an athlete that had length.
Good shot blocker. Hard nosed defender. Can run and finish. Could shoot the 3 ball.
And most of all... was CLUTCH!

Everything that this team needs. Perfect fit.

Aldridge. Just because he's been healthy for the most part, unlike Love. But hell, I would take Love in a heartbeat also.

If (when) the Rockets miss out on Howard and Paul, unless they are adding a great perimeter defender like Iguodola, trying to add a guy like Gasol through trade would be a great idea. You are only locked into him for one year and the Lakers will likely be open to trading him without much of a haul back if they can basically cut all of his salary. The Rockets could make it work for just Thomas Robinson and still keep Delfino.

Bringing back the same team, but adding Gasol would be very impressive. You get a trial year with Gasol. If it works you can pursue some 2014 FAs, but have the Gasol option in your back pocket. If it doesn't you get all the cap room back and have only lost Robinson who looks unlikely to work out anyway.

West or LMA. Bosh isn't getting traded and Millsap is not a difference maker.West would be my number 1 choice followed by LMA.

Love (unless we count Lebron as a PF since that's what he plays now)

Dwight Howard. Hey, if Greg Smith can work as our PF, then an infinitely better version of Smith will work infinitely better -- no?

LMA all day long. His mid-range is butter and automatic. If he can stay healthy and come to Houston, we'd be pretty damn legit.
